Pluckley’s new defibrillator is now installed in a yellow box on the side wall of the village store – thanks to Sena. It is fully automated, and designed to be used by the public without any training. We hope that it won’t need to be used, but it’s reassuring to know that it’s there.
The Accounting & Governance Statements for the Parish Council for the year ended 31st March 2016 are now available on this site on the Parish Council “Other Publications” page under ‘Finance and Governance‘.

The Parish Council has been aware for some time that mobile phone reception in and around our village is patchy. We have written to the 4 main network providers, but they have only replied in fairly general terms. In order to raise more specific concerns with the operators, we invited residents to complete a short survey based upon their experience as mobile phone users.
Thank you to all those of you who took the time to complete the survey which closed at the end of July. Results and conclusions will be communicated shortly and will be used by the Parish Council with the objective of improving mobile reception in Pluckley.
Thank you to everyone for making our Quiz Night such a success! We made a profit of £650 for the Village Hall! We would like to say a particularly big thank you to all our sponsors; The Rare Breeds Centre, The Rose and Crown, Glass and Glaze, Pluckley Butchers, Pluckley Post Office, Pluckley Farm Shop, Madrona Nursery, Nicci McBride, Pivington Pots, The Granary Spa. And thank you also to all those who came to take part, to Jill for helping to prepare the suppers, to Chris for being Paul Ticehurst’s brother for the evening, to Jenny for helping to set up and to all the wonderful people who stayed to help clear up after the event.

Pluckley’s Pond Warden, Ros Rowan, spoke at the Annual Parish Assembly last week and advised that she has been carrying out her annual night-time monitoring of newts in Pluckley’s ponds. If any residents would like Ros to carry out a garden pond survey in order to establish the extent of any population of newts, please contact her on 01233 840253 or by email at [email protected]
