Illegal Parties & Raves

Ringmaster message, reference number FB/3313/10. With the onset of spring there is an increased chance of illegal parties and raves taking place in the rural areas. If you have any reason to believe that such an event is being planned on your land or adjacent land or any preparatory act is taking place to hold such an illegal event please phone the police on 01622 690690.

Security Companies

Ringmaster message, reference number FB/3915/10. Calls to the NHW office continue to come in regarding the activities of several ‘security’ companies trying to sell alarm systems. Ones we have heard of are SAS Security, UK Crime Research and Landmark Security. These companies are offering alarm systems at extremely low prices and on occasions free - please warn your members not to be taken in. If your members would like any security products remind them to contact at least 3 reputable companies for estimates.

Doorstep collections

We would also like to highlight another growing trend, that of doorstep clothes and bric-a-brac collections, following a leaflet left in your door. Before donating to these causes please check that the company/charity is bona-fide and registered with the correct agency. Such an organisation, Helping Arms, is operating in the Folkestone and Dover area. This organisation is not a registered charity.

New website

Kent County Neighbourhood Watch Association (KCNWA) have launched their new website: www.kcnwa.org

May we invite you to revisit the site and have another look. In particular ask that you view the additions in relation to Disability Access and Terms of Use that are at the bottom of the Home page.

KCNWA have also added a direct link to a Kent Trading Standards page where you can view all Bogus Trader and scam information from across the county with the single click of your mouse from the links page. There is also a direct link to a Counter Terrorism page for you to be updated on all current news.
