Friends of St Nicholas

The ‘Friends of St Nicholas’ is a registered charity formed in 1991 for the sole purpose of raising funds for the repair, restoration and refurbishment of St Nicholas’ Church. A non-denominational body, it has raised over £137,000 to date of which more than £90,000 has been spent on repair and restoration. The money raised from subscriptions (currently £7.50 single/£12 family annual membership), together with monies received from holding events such as the ‘Friendly Gardens’, ‘Cream Tea Serenade’ (Saturday 6th August at St Nicholas’) and the annual Harvest Supper (this year to be held on Saturday 22nd October) is used to support works such as the major masonry repairs urgently needed and partial funding of the forthcoming Pluckley Heritage Centre. Without the vital support of villagers coming to these events, the Friends would not be in a position to offer much needed financial assistance to preserve this beautiful church, founded in 1097, for future generations.

We very much look forward to seeing both new and familiar faces at the various events we have organised in the coming months. If anyone would like to become a member of the Friends of St Nicholas’, please contact Sue Clapham (Chairman of the Friends) on 01233 840698, leaving your name and contact number.
