Library

A mobile library calls every Thursday in the Street, near the Black Horse, and on alternate Thursdays at Pluckley Thorne and the Station Approach. A public lending library in the school opens Tuesday and Friday afternoons between 3:30 and 4:30, during term time only. There is also a very good public library in Charing

Wealden Wheels

Wealden Wheels, the community transport service based in Pluckley, has been a huge success since it started in 2004. We operate 3 mini-buses, two of which can transport wheelchairs. The service is flexible, and member groups can either drive themselves, or be driven by one of our volunteers. We are always looking for more business from local organisations or families wanting to travel to events, or just go on outings. If you are interested please give us a call.
Our success also means that we are currently very short of volunteer drivers. There’s no minimum commitment — volunteers are just sent an e-mail once a week with a list of jobs that need drivers, and then just call us if they can help. If anyone is interested, we’d be delighted to explain more and to show them round the vehicles. We do need to point out that drivers need to be over 25.
If anyone is interested or wishes to help please contact us on 01233
84 00 00, or email us at with contact details and we will get back to them.
