Pluckley (Surrenden) Tennis Club
Tennis was originally played in 1943/44 at Barhatch on Forge Hill (now demolished for new housing) then at Homewood's on a grass court. In 1966 a hard court was built on the recreation ground. In the late 1970s, the club became known as the Surrenden Tennis Club. A second court was built in 1980 with funds raised within the village and grants.
Currently annual family membership is £60; single adult, £30; student, £20; and juniors under 16, £10.
Contact Hon Treasurer for further membership details, or download a membership form here. Coaching sessions are available during the spring and summer months for juniors and adults.
Hire of the courts is free for members, but non-members are charged £5 per hour – pay at the village shop.
Use of the courts at weekends is reserved for members only.
Pluckley School has the use of No 1 court from 1:15 to 3:15 every other Friday throughout the year; between 3:15 and 4:15pm Tuesday afternoon during winter months; and, if the main recreation ground is out of use, Thursdays and Fridays between 1:15 and 3:15pm.
